At the height of the rave scene in the early ‘90s, the Hulme Crescents in inner-city Manchester became an enclave of decadence and resistance as the developers moved in and local residents, including an enclave of artists and students, who were to be impacted by cultural displacement.
It was from these circumstances that various participatory site-specific live-art events sprang into existence across inner-city locations.
